Dubbo from the iPad

It's been over a year since I retired and it's been twelve months of doing nothing, absolutely NOTHING! I've been waiting for a great boost of energy to come along but it hasn't happened. I have lost my quilting mojo and don't know where it are!

I like living in Dubbo, it's nice to have family and friends drop in every now and then, something which happened only rarely in Bathurst. One weekend recently we had all three of Rods sisters here and a few nephews and nieces and it was wonderful. Just like I have always imagined my life happening. I truly appreciated how blessed my life is that weekend.

The sewing room is still in a mess. I'm just not happy with the layout and will have to have a BIG move around before I can get in there to sew. I just feel its all too much for me at present. Ho hum woe is me. But I have felt little stirrings of quilty ideas and urges. So something is going to happen, soon, I think.

We spend a lot of time on the back veranda. Reading, listening to the radio, watching the local bird life, nothing strenuous,

Yep, I'm back online, been a month without and surprisingly I have survived without too much trauma.
The unpacking is continuing at an annoyingly slow pace. I can only do so much and then my back packs it in, or we get visitors. My social life has increased 10 fold since this move to Dubbo, and I'm loving it. Downsizing has been a big learning curve for me. I've gone from 3 linen cupboards to one so my niece got a box full of bed linen, should keep her going for the rest of her life. I kept 2 sets of sheets for the spare bed and 4 sets of sheets for ours. I still have 22 towels tho.
The sewing room is sort of coming along . . . .  I have got some of the fabric stash into the wall unit in no particular order but there is still heaps to go. I have sooooo much sewing/quilting junk and I don't want to part with any of it. I have taken over the cupboard in the laundry which is off my sewingroom, so hopefully things will get sorted soon. Just wish I could twitch the nose and it's done. I have a great-neice champing at the bit to get sewing with me.
It's nice to be back with my quilty mates.

Got a BIG parcel from America yesterday. It was my order from The One Stop Plus Shop. They have some loverly things for us big chicks.
Take a squizz at the fabric in this skirt.

I got a black skirt the same too, and a pink teeshirt the same as this one, along with lots of other things.

CONTINUING ON WITH The Gardener’s Journal.

We are in the process of moving and most of my stash is already packed away,  . . . . . and probably because everything is so neat and tidy again in the house after #2 son moved out, I’m feeling the urge to sew. So I dug out the embroidery project I started working on a while back and am gradually getting through it during the evenings while watching TV.

Anyway, here's a joke for you.

I've been too busy, and worn out, lately to do anything with this blog. We've been getting this house ready for sale. Yesterday and today we have been shampooing carpets. My right arm is useless right now, my back will never be the same again and I think I would sleep for 3 days if I put my head down right now. Only one room to go, . . . this one, the computer sewing room.
BTW, we have bought a house in Dubbo, NSW, and will be moving there around mid March.

Anyway, here's a joke for you.
